Dorothy was am amazing instructor during her 'second' career at NSCC. She was caring, professional, expressive and I found her quite entertaining (many times- funny) as I am sure her students did. She was amazing with her breast cancer survivors' initiatives. To know her, made your life richer. RIP in peace lovely person.

Dorothy, Steffie and I shared an office and had so many great times together, even when I was pregnant with my 12 lb child.

I was so sad to hear of the passing of beautiful Dorothy or Dottie Mae as I loved to call her. Dorothy was a dear friend and also colleague from 1998 to 2011 as we taught together for most of those years at NSCC.

We bonded right away with her sunny disposition, great sense of humour and no nonsense approach to life.  We had so much fun and always shared a love of the BeeGees.

Dorothy was a great support for the birth of both my children, who she adored and always wanted to hear what they were up to as they grew up. Dorothy was also a wonderful friend during the death of both my parents.

I was honoured to be at her son’s wedding and visiting Hannah in the hospital when she first arrived. 

Dorothy loved her family with such passion and was so proud of all of you. She spoke about you all constantly over the years with such love and devotion. I have shared a few photos of Dorothy with colleagues/friends. Dorothy was a beautiful soul and I was blessed to have her in my life.

My condolences to Mike and family for Dorothy’s passing. I have great memories of our time working together. Dorothy made quite a positive impact on those around her and she will be missed.

How do you say goodbye to a friend.  I really don't know.  Being a person of faith, I know my Haligonian friend, Dorothy Mullins, who passed away suddenly last week, is fine and in a good place.  But, oh the hole she leaves behind is huge.  Especially for her husband of 53 years, Michael, and for their sons, daughters-in-law, and oh her granddaughters.  Her sister, and, so many, many friends in so many places.  Perhaps the only way we can say goodbye, is to be so very thankful that we had the blessing of knowing Dorothy, and sharing some of our journey together.  Such wonderful memories to keep and treasure.  I was blessed indeed.  I just thought we had more time for at least one more visit.

I’m so sorry to hear about Dorothy’s passing. She was such a special part of our families’ lives for so many years, and I’ll always think of the connection our parents shared at MT&T and the reason our lifelong friendship exists and grew from it. She and Big Mike raised two incredible sons, Mike and Chris. I looked up to Dorothy like a second mother. Sending my deepest condolences and love during this difficult time.

I met Dorothy years ago with the Maritime Tel &Tel crowd and although we hadn’t seen each other in years we met shopping a few years ago and she hugged me so tight we both almost cried. Michael and family, I can not describe the feeling that came over me this morning when I read of Dorothy’s passing.  “Dorothy was easy to know and loved everyone she met” That sentence in the obituary says so much about the beautiful person Dorothy was, and in so few words.  During our time together at MT&T Dorothy was a friend and a mentor.  She was a bright, positive light and always had a twinkle in her eye.  Although our paths didn’t not cross much these last number of years, technology allowed me to follow her impressive career and the lives of her beloved boys and grandchildren.  My deepest condolences.  

PS I am away until the end of March and as such, will not be able to attend the funeral service.  I wish I could be there to celebrate Dorothy.  She left an indelible mark on so many.

I am sending my sincere condolences to Mike and family. I will always remember Dorothy’s  beautiful smile and positive attitude. She was always pleasant to be with and made your day brighter.

Dorothy taught me Human Resources at the community college. She was so wonderful, inspiring and full of fun.  She made a lasting impression on me in a short period of time so anyone who might have known her longer would have been truly blessed.

What a sad loss! Dorothy was one of our early faculty members in the School of Business at NSCC. She was a dedicated and extraordinary teacher and mentor. Always with that great smile. I am sending my deepest sympathies to the family. Very saddened to hear this news. I was a student of Dorothy for 2001/2002 school year at NSCC  HR program. In Jan of 2002 my dad was diagnosed with lung cancer. He passed in Early June 2002. I missed the last two days of placement and of course didn’t go to graduation. But with her support and my fellow students I didn’t miss much else. Dorothy’s kindness and support to me over those terrible 6 months went beyond and left a lasting impact on me. She even went so far to loan me a computer so I wouldn’t get too far behind as I had to go away every weekend to care for my dad. I am forever grateful to have had her in my life. She was so special and I am so sorry. She was an angel on earth so I can just image that she is one now. Sending all my prayers. xxoo

Dorothy will be missed by all that knew her.  We attended one of the 1st Bosom Buddies meeting together.  She helped me through my journey with breast cancer.  My condolences go out to her family, who she loved so dearly.  Rest in peace my dear friend.
