I have some wonderful early memories of your father at Porters Lake in the mid sixties. He was always gracious and let us, and many other "kids" water ski for hours on those long summer days...I have some fun 8mm film of Mary - anne helping us all ski. I don't know why my original note didn't post so I will say it again: I was blessed to know both Dugger and Marion McNeil. I considered them family and they always treated me as if I was related by blood and not just love. I will forever miss having our rousing hockey discussions (I remember turning around at a game in Florida to find Dugger and Ross sitting behind me...I was delighted) and Dugger's great stories of his playing days (and his futile attempts to teach me French)....and seeing him roll his eyes, with a smile and a chuckle when Marion and I would talk about Les Gros Bill (who we both had a crush on). The memories will live on and, because they will, Dugger and Marion will live on in our hearts.

My fondest memory of Dugger goes back to when I was a child,walking home from church with my father down the Dyke Rd..I still vividly recall those summer days whereas your Dad would be in his Uncle Clarence,s yard,leaning over the fence waiting so he could give me chocolates. I recall the box was blue with a pretty picture of a bird on it.Years later,I did tell him how much that meant to me and that I had never forgotten.....Dugger McNeil was a "Class Act" indeed. Although Dugger and I shared a passion for hockey, I met Marion before I knew him. I was a young junior office clerk at Nova Scotia Light and Power, and part of my duties was to visit five Royal Bank outlets, after they closed, at 3 pm. There I would pick up the receipts of the power bills paid at the bank and return them to our main cashier, Cedar Mailing. My first stop was the Royal Bank branch on Gottingen Street, at the foot of Cunard. The teller who served me was Marion. Each day we would chat about the Halifax Atlantics. One day, which I recall like yesterday, I arrived and she was beaming. She proudly showed me the engagement ring Dugger gave her the previous evening. Later of course, I met Dugger and we too became friends. They were an incredible couple. May they rest together in eternal peace.

My condolences to the family.  It was a pleasure to know Dugger, Marie and Ross when I worked at Bayers Road CIBC in the mid 1980's. It is good to know he had a long and wonderful life,

When I read of Dugger's passing yesterday, my first thought was that he and his beloved Marion were together again.  They were an incredible team of two wonderful, caring people.  My sympathy to the family - his passing will certainly leave a large hole in your lives.
