Munroe, Douglas Vincent, passed away in Halifax NS on December 25, 2013. Born September 16, 1929, he was a son of Frank and Gertrude Munroe. He attended Joseph A. MacKay School. He served in the Army, Special Forces from 1951 to 1952 with 54 Transport RCASC in Korea, also Germany 1955-1957 and Egypt 1959-1960. He served 18 years with Corps of Commissionaires at National Research. He was predeceased by his parents, sister Dorothy G. Donnelly, Windsor, ON, brothers George, Frank, Eric, Ken and sister Margaret Jeffrey all of Halifax. He is survived by sister, Kathleen Robertson, Hammonds Plains along with many nieces and nephews.
Memorial service will take place on Thursday, January 2 at 2:00pm from JA Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Dr. Halifax, NS B3S 0E1 (455-0531) immediately followed by interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Lower Sackville.
