

MACLEAN, Earl Lawrence – It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our husband, father and grandfather. Earl Lawrence MacLean, 72, of Harrietsfield passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, February 18, 2012 at the QEII Hospital, VG Site. Born in Halifax, he was predeceased by parents Wilfred H. MacLean and Florence G (Lively) and daughter Karen (Maurice) Corsi. Earl was a long haul truck driver for many years and also worked at the Department of Transportation. Along with his family, he owned and operated MacLean’s Take-out in Harrietsfield. He enjoyed bowling, card playing, hunting, fishing and other outdoor activities. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion for over 38 years. He is survived by his loving wife, Doris Mary MacLean; children Kelly (Mike) Oliver, Tantallon, Angela (Mark) Welsh, Williamswood, Earl S. (Christine) MacLean, Williamswood; sisters Shirley (Herald) Bigger, Lwr. Sackville, Marion (James) Dauphinee, Goodwood, Helen (Keith) Hartling, Dartmouth; grandchildren Adam C. and Anthony, Julia and Erica, Adam W. and Ashley, James and Grace; great-grandson Aidan and several cousins, nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place. Visitation to be held at J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Dr., Halifax Thursday, February 23 from 2-4 and 6-8pm. Memorial service to be held in the funeral home chapel Friday, February 24 at 11am. Interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lwr. Sackville, N.S.
