Wayne was a teacher in Western Newfoundland for 30 years, a member of the Deer Lake Lion’s Club, the founding member of the Spillway Local Service District, an active member of the church, and always involved in his community.
He is survived by his loving wife, Daphne Penney Badcock; his children DeAnne Badcock, Kentville; Paul (Adele) Badcock, Bedford; Susan (Owen) Hubley, Halifax; his pride and joy, his grandchildren, Annelise, Cameron, Wyatt, Scotty, and Quinn; Sisters: Bonita (John) Walsh, Bay Roberts, NL; Jamie McGibbon, Ontario; Sisters-in-Law: Emmie (Otto Goulding) Penney, Pasadena, NL; Jean Penney, Pasadena, NL; Brother-in-Law: Monty (Marilyn) Penney, Pasadena, NL. His many nieces and nephews; and his precious dog Lily. Wayne was predeceased by his Father, Edgar Badcock; Mother, Mildred (Lawton) Bussey; Parents-in-Law Hedley and Louise Penney; Sister Yvonne Earle; Brothers-in-Law Wilson Penney and Allan Earle; and niece Jody McCabe.
A special thank you to the Palliative Pain Management team, the Cancer Centre at the Victoria General, Dr Singleton and her team, the Cobequid Health Centre, as well as the nurses of 6B for taking such good care of him in his last few days.
