Born in West Germany to Herman and Gretchen Schade. She came to Halifax in 1954 where she then resided for the rest of her days.
She was employed at the Oakfield Golf Club, Brightwood Golf Club and the Halifax Curling Club where she then retired.
She is survived by son Helmuth Herman Koerner (Janice) Halifax; granddaughters Heidi Dimock (Doug) Shubenacadie, Sharon Kelly (Rob) New Ross; great-grandchildren, Trevor, Daniel, Jodi, Cody and Sean; and 4 great-great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by husband Phillip Howard.
We would like to give thanks to the staff at Northwood Manor.
