Colin was an active member of Saint Benedict Parish where he volunteered in many ways over the years. He helped as a greeter at church services and delivered the Eucharist to seniors unable to attend in person. He took part in The Way of Stella Maris, a Catholic walking pilgrimage along the Eastern Shore where he enjoyed prayer, friendship and a deepening of faith. He was a devoted member of their Life Group, originally called the Connect Group, formed eleven years ago where he and Andrea made many meaningful friendships.
He loved supporting his children and grandchildren in all their sports and activities and attended as many games as possible to cheer them on. He always looked forward to family gatherings for Birthdays and holidays and never turned down an extra piece of pie or cake! He spent many summers when his children were young camping or renting cottages on the South Shore, enjoying French fries at Rissers canteen and searching for crabs and sand dollars on the beach. Colin cherished the time spent with his grandson Ryan when he visited Nova Scotia and also had wonderful memories of trips to Ontario to visit and often camp with David and Ryan.
Colin was a master of all types of word puzzles that he and Andrea worked on every morning together. He was an avid reader, especially nonfiction and always had interesting facts to share on everything from ancient history to current affairs. He also enjoyed sharing stories about his travels throughout Europe as a young man.
He was very involved with the many groups and activities in their building and enjoyed many coffee mornings, games of cards and especially Bridge. He was always available to help with organizing events and made many wonderful friends there over the last 13 years.
He lived a full and varied life and will be remembered for his keen mind and quick wit.
He is survived by his loving wife Andrea (nee Richard) of 61 years; and their children, Tanya (William), Teresa (Dave) and David (Rae), grandchildren, Alex, Jacqueline, Ryan and Eva. He is survived by his only sibling Heather (John) and niece Jordan.
He was pre deceased by his parents Ted and Josephine MacMillan.
