

Born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Gord was the son of the late Roy and Daisy Bowdridge. He was the beloved husband of Pat Bowdridge, devoted father of Brent (Dianne) and Penny Nicholson (Paul), cherished grandfather of Josh, Hayley, Amy, and Hannah, and proud great-grandfather of Nylah and Molly.
Gord is survived by his sisters, Marie and Judy, and his brothers, Wayne, Melvin, Eric, Paul, and Ron. He was predeceased by his brother, Ed.
Throughout his career, Gord served with the Federal Government for 30 years as a Certified Professional Accountant. He was known for his integrity, dedication, and strong work ethic.
A faithful member of St. John the Evangelist Church in Middle Sackville, Gord valued the friendships, fellowship, and sense of community he found there. His faith was an important part of his life.
Gord's greatest joy was his family, and he took particular pride in spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He also enjoyed woodworking, gardening, and building model boats and trains, pursuits that reflected his patience, craftsmanship, and attention to detail.
Gord will be remembered for his kindness, quiet strength, gentle sense of humour, and unwavering love for his family. He leaves behind many cherished memories and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
The family extends its heartfelt thanks to the staff of Unit 7.2 at the Halifax Infirmary for their professionalism, kindness, and compassionate care during Gord's final days.
Visitation will take place on Wednesday July 8 from 6-8pm in J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax. Funeral service will be held on Friday July 10 at 2pm in St. John the Evangelist Church, 954 Old Sackville Rd., Middle Sackville.
