

passed away on Halifax at the age of 77, after a 22 year and 11 month battle with ALS. Gordon was the youngest son of the late William and Marjorie (Purcell) of Portuguese Cove and was the last surviving member of his immediate family, having been predeceased by his brother, Albert and Sister Lorrain Hart. Gordon is survived by his best friend and wife of 48 years Margo (Oickle), several nieces and nephews.
Gordon was a former employee of the Irving Halifax Shipyards, having retired in 2000 due to ill health. He was also a former member of the Halifax Antique Car Club, having neem the former owner of 1958 Edsel Ranger and 1955 Crown Victoria. He also was well known for building model dory’s than grace many homes across Canada. Also building model fishing boats with nothing but the plans in his head. He did not let ALS stop him from enjoying life.

At Gordon’s request there will be no visitation or service. A private spreading of ashes will be at a later date.
Donations in Gordon’s memory can be made to the ALS Society of New Brunswick and Nova Scotia or plant a tree in his memory.
