Harry "Ted" Edward Martin

It is with heavy hearts that we, the family, announce the passing of Harry Edward (Ted) Martin, age 84, Wednesday August 11, 2021 at Northwood Ivany Place, Bedford. Ted, of Halifax, survived by beloved wife of Cynthia nee Baker (Cindy) of 62 years, father to Glenn (Derrick) and Jeffrey (Andrea), brother to Paul (Marilyn), grandfather to Christopher (Rosemary), Amanda, Allyson, and many nieces and nephews whom he was the favourite uncle. Predeceased by parents Percy and Evangeline; brother Roy (Shirley); sister Joan (Sonny); brother-in-law Gordon Mason. Born in Sheet Harbour raised in the North End of Dartmouth. Ted worked at N.A.D Gun Shop for 38 years, retired in 1992. Ted enjoyed a long loving life: in his younger years Ted enjoyed baseball and bowling and later spent his summers and hunting seasons at Brule Shore. Ted enjoyed family, friends, hunting & fishing with Tom and Stan, woodworking, dancing, playing cards (especially crib), Captain Morgan White, Keith's beer, Brother's pepperoni and Liquorice All Sorts. Ted ways enjoyed a party and loved dancing with Cindy and friends. After raising his family Ted enjoyed his grandchildren and watching them play hockey, soccer and kart racing. Special thanks to the teams at Ivy Meadows and Ivany Place. In lieu of flowers memorial donations to Parkinson Canada would be appreciated. In accordance with Ted's wishes cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation or service. A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, September 16th from 11am-1pm at J. A. Snows Funeral Home, Halifax.
