Helen Marie Colpa

Colpa, Helen Marie Ann (nee MacNeil): 90, Dartmouth Nova Scotia, passed away peacefully on January 10, 2026 at the QEII Health Sciences Centre. Born in Gillis Point Cape Breton on Oct 14, 1935 (despite the clerical error saying she was born on Oct 13th). Daughter of the late Hugh and Margaret MacNeil (Boudreau). She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Tommy and her children, Wanda (Gary Lehman), Linda (Bill Peckford) and Brian (Janet Duransky). She has 4 beautiful grandchildren, Hannah, Owen, Abigail and Sophia. She is survived by sister Lorraine (Don Nelson) and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by siblings Theresa (Robie MacDonald) Joseph (Patricia), Alex (Sally) and half-siblings John (Kay), Marie, Gerald, Leonard. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Drummond Hall at Parkland Clayton Park for their loving attention during the last 3 years of her life - she indeed was spunky! As well as to the nurses and staff at the QEII for the tender and compassionate care Helen and the family received during her stay. At the family’s request, in lieu of flowers, please make a memorial donation to the MS Society of Canada. Funeral service is scheduled Feb 21, 2026 at 2pm, with reception to follow at JA Snow, Lacewood Dr, Halifax NS.
