Irene Loretta O'Brien

Irene was born to the late Paul and Melende Landry in Chartersville, NB, spending her younger years on the family farm where she developed a lifelong love of animals. She eventually moved to Halifax, NS, where she became a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Special vacations included several trips to Bermuda and Grand Cayman. She also enjoyed spending summers in Scots Bay, NS.

She will be missed by sons Michael (Lorraine) O'Brien, Marc (Bassima) O'Brien, daughters Joanne O'Brien and Annette (Bill) Burchell, grandsons Robert, Cyril and Liam and granddaughter Danielle. Irene is survived by her sisters Rita Benoit and Theresa O'Connell and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Cyril Joseph O'Brien, sister Louise Landry and brother Camille Landry.

A private service will be held at a later date.

The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the caring nurses and doctors at the Neurosurgery Unit 7.3 at the QEII Hospital, Halifax, NS. For those who wish, donations can be made in Irene's memory to Hope for Wildlife or the charity of your choice.
