OBITUARY

Janet Karol Arnold

15 December, 1935 – 23 June, 2026
IN THE CARE OF

JA Snow Funeral Home

It is with deep sorrow that the family announces the passing of their beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother on June 23, 2026, at her home in Clayton Park, Nova Scotia, at the age of 90.

Born on December 15, 1935, in Buffalo, New York, Janet was the oldest daughter of the late Robert and Doris Price. She deferred her college education to marry her high school sweetheart, Donald Robert Arnold, on September 10, 1955. In the following eight years, Don and Janet had six children while moving from Bethany, West Virginia, to Rochester, New York, and then Somers, New York. The family moved again to London, Ontario, and finally to Hubley, Nova Scotia. Janet was a devoted wife and mother who supported her family with strength and compassion while creating a beautiful and loving home in Lake of the Woods. She enjoyed the sense of community she found at St. Luke's United Church in Tantallon, where she sang in the choir. She completed her education with a BA in Psychology from Mount Saint Vincent University in 1985. She was also an accomplished craftswoman and greatly enjoyed learning new skills while creating works of art for her family.

Don and Janet celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary before Don passed away in 2006. Janet was particularly proud of all members of her family, which has grown to include 11 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Janet was predeceased by Donald (2006), and her sons Randall (2012) and Gregory (2021). She is survived by her children (and spouses) Douglas (Katherine), Mark (Denise), Bradley (Gianna), and Lindsey (Shafik); her grandchildren, Taesha, Tonya, Christopher, Brandon, Ashley, Kali, Molly, Kellen, Kalim, Grace, Nima; and her great-grandchildren Andre, Vera, Lily, and Madelyn.

A memorial service will be held privately for the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Janet’s favourite charity, Operation Smile Canada.
