Jean was predeceased by Archie her husband of 65 years. She is survived by daughters Karen and Linda, son-in-law Darrell, granddaughters Chelsea (Cameron) and Alison (Patrick), and great granddaughter Aubrie. She also leaves behind her sister Brenda and her family in the U.K.
Jean was an Executive Secretary at a Firm in London England, before becoming a full-time Mum to Karen and Linda. The family immigrated to Halifax in 1975 where Jean decided to return to the work force as the girls were in school and Archie was at work. She initially worked as a Legal Secretary, then she moved to Mount Saint Vincent University as Secretary of the English and Modern Languages Department where she enjoyed 25 years until her retirement, after which she continued as Archie’s secretary for many years. Jean was Archie’s partner in sailing as they entered many races in the U.K. racing the boat that Archie built with Jean as his first mate and the girls as crew. We would like to thank Parkland nurses, staff and management for their kindnesses and caring shown to Jean and our family throughout this journey.
In lieu of flowers, if you so wish, donations would be most welcome at Parkinson Canada, or any charity of your choice.
A short service will be held in the chapel of J.A. Snow Funeral Home on Friday, August 21st at 10:00 a.m. 339 Lacewood Drive Halifax, followed by a reception.
