After celebrating his 83rd birthday in November and enjoying Christmas, "J.J." passed away peacefully on January 2, 2020 with his loving family at his side following a brief and unexpected hospital stay.
J.J. is survived by his wife, Patricia, daughters Martine Marleau (Bill Hacquoil) and Carolyn Pemberton (Greg), and grandchildren Abigail and Ian Pemberton.
Born in Ottawa, ON, he was the son of the late Albert and Rhéa Marleau. J.J. was predeceased by brothers Fernand (and sister-in-law Eunice), Ronald (Louise), Claude (Asbjorg), and Guy (Monique). He will be fondly remembered by his remaining brothers Gilles (Francine), Raymond (late wife Gisèle), André, and Laurent (late wife Chantal); sisters Lyse (Denis Perrault) and Suzanne (Georges Guilbault) as well as many nieces and nephews.
J.J. was a nature lover, avid reader, crossword / jigsaw puzzler, and liked a challenging game of Scrabble. And, he always had a project of some type on the go!
Cremation has taken place, with a service to be held at a later date. For those wishing to do so, donations may be made to Feed Nova Scotia or charity of your choice.
