Jerome Braganza

Born in Entebbe, Uganda, he was the son of Pascal Martin Braganza and Agnes Maria Anesco (de Lima) Braganza.

Jerry was born in Uganda and spent the early years of his life in Goa, India where he attended boarding school with his sister Rose (Castanha).

After his time in Goa, he returned to Uganda and reunited with his family and friends.

Jerry came to Canada in 1973 in pursuit of his one true love, Rita (Dias) Braganza. They started a family and Jerry started a career in the travel industry. In 1984, Jerry started his own business, Aero World Travels, which became his second passion.

Survived by his wife Rita Braganza; daughter Carla Braganza, Halifax and; son Martin (wife Alicia) Braganza, Halifax; sister Rose Castanha (UK) and her sons Terrence (wife Audrey) Castanha (UK) and Daryl (wife Alda) Castanha (UK); brothers Maurice Braganza (Ontario); Anthony (wife Anne) Braganza (Ontario) and his son Michael and daughters Genevieve and Renee; and grandchild Noah Jerome Braganza, (Halifax) and grandnephew Aaron Castanha (UK).

He was predeceased by Bruno Castanha (UK).

Visitation will be held at J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Dr., Halifax on Wednesday, September 26th from 7-9pm. Service will be held at Saint Benedict Parish Church, 45 Radcliffe Dr., Halifax on Thursday, September 27th at 10:30am.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
