

Born in November of 1930 in Halifax, he was the second son of Albert and Winnifred Driscoll, passed away on October 27, 2015, in hospital after a lengthy illness.
John’s first love was for his family. Of particular mention is his Aunt Anne Redmond, affectionately named “Nän”, who cared for him and his siblings for many years during the lengthy illness of his mother.
John was a proud tradesman working for many years as a carpenter and foreman for the Halifax School Board. He served in the naval reserve for over 25 years.
John was a charter member of the Canadian Martyrs Parish and a humble and faithful servant of the Lord.
John is survived by his wife of 63 years, Maureen (Burns); son, John (Kathy Myketyn); daughter, Cathy (Greg Cainen); grandchildren, Frances, John-Cahill and Mary Myketyn Driscoll, Stuart and Luke Cainen; brothers, Albert (Theresa), David (Madge), Kenneth (Verna), Vernon, Peter (Marilyn), and sister, Margaret; sisters-in-law, Joan Sauve and Barbara Burns; brother-in-law, David (Christine) Burns and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held at J. A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax, on Friday, October 30th from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial and reception will be held on Saturday, October 31st in Canadian Martyrs Church at 10 am, Father Vernon Driscoll officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetary . In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Canadian Diabetes Association or Royal Canadian Legion.
