Born in Fredericton, New Brunswick, he was a son of the late Ella Marie (Mihan) and Joseph Clarence Cameron.
John was employed with the Halifax Regional School Board.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda Cameron (Duff) of Halifax, step-sons Ross Duff, Lower Sackville and Tyler Duff, Halifax; sister, Laura Cameron, Dartmouth; brothers, Joey, Lake Echo, Billy, Lawrencetown, Tony, Dartmouth, and Tommy, Dartmouth. Cherished granddaughter, Dakota Duff. Several nieces and nephews.
John was predeceased by his nephew, David Julien.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 3, 2016 from 2-4 pm in J. A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax.
In lieu of flowers a donation may be made in memory of John to a charity of choice.
