Dear Mackinnon Family

I am sorry to hear about your loss.  I had many conversations with Jack over the years at the Adelaide.  Unfortunately it was the same conversation.  For some reason though I always felt I met him previously.  Our conversation always related to hockey.  He knew some of the people I had known from fairview and in and about the centennial arena over the years.  He is probably one of my best memories of guests Janet had at the Adelaide.

It was a pleasure knowing him for the short time I did.

Alexander, David, Joanne, and family so sorry to hear of Jack's passing, I have many fond memories of times in the Centennial Arena and all the effort he put into making it fun for the kids. He was a fine example of a community leader and I know we all appreciated his generous and kind efforts.

MacKinnon Family I send my condolences to your family.I was one of the nurses at the Adelaide.I have to say your dad was my favorite.The hearty stories and that laugh I will never forget.I enjoyed his thoghtfullness and love of good home cooked meal.I also lived in fairview.so we had alot in common of our community.May you always remember your dad was a wonderful man.

I am sorry for your loss with "Uncle Jack's" passing. He was a real gentleman , he adored his family . I thought of him recently - saw the Star Wars movie and recalled Jack asking my brother if Star Wars was a rock and roll band ... many years ago.That's a family legend in my house . Susan fondly recalled with me the spoons Jack always pulled out to play at  Wilson family parties when we were children, always with a big smile. I'm glad you had Christmas together . Thinking of you all.

Very sad to read of Uncle Jack's passing. It was always a pleasure to visit with him when we were "Home". He will be missed. Don, Mona & Family.

To Jack's family...please accept my sincere condolences. He was a good and happy friend during out Mt A days. He was the star rugby player and runner. We waited tables together in  Trueman House dining room and generally had fun together...
 hitch hiking to Amherst and Halifax. When Don Messer came on the radio, his room was the gathering place where Jack would play his "bones" or if he couldn't find them, he'd get out the spoons.
Life took us  in different directions.  I cherish his memory and often think fondly of those days and our warm friendship.

I just heard of your fathers passing today.My deepest sympathy to each of you and to you families. Jack was an important person in my young adult years; he was very good to me and I have always been grateful for all the help he gave me.
The years I spent at White Cross were wonderful and eventful and full of  larger than life characters....I still laugh out loud when I think of some of the things that happened!
Jack was a wonderful man who lived an interesting and very successful life.
Everything he did was for his family ; as you all well know, you were the most important people in his life.
I regret to say I will be out of town for the ceremony .

We are saddened to hear of Jack's passing. My mother first knew Jack in Truro many years ago when she was a student at the Provincial Normal College. J ack was best friends with the little boy who lived in the house where my mother was boarding and was often there playing with his friend. I remember Jack at our house in Fairview watching the hockey game and eating Mom's famous apple pie. It was fun to watch him because he got excited when his team scored a goal. Mom was so happy that she got to visit Jack shortly before Christmas this year and they had a good chat. My first job as a teenager was working part time at the drugstore. Being there with Jack and Ian MacKinnon was so much fun! I remember your father as a kind and friendly gentleman as does the rest of my family.our prayers are with you.

Was so very sorry to hear of your Dad's passing.  I have many fond memories of him while growing up, and always enjoyed seeing him at family gatherings.  He was a very kind soul. Please accept my sincere sympathy in the passing of your Father(Grandfather),Jack.He was a very special person,and a very good friend of my late husband,LLoyd Mitchell.Lloyd asked Jack to be  his best man at our wedding,and I was so pleased to see the picture of your Father,Leroy Wright and Lloyd in happier times.I came in to the mix later but will always remember the wonderful New Years Eve Party he and Maxine had and the beautiful occasion their 50th anniversary was.They were a special couple.

To the MacKinnon family:  We were deeply sad to hear of the passing of Jack.  As residents of Fairview for several years, we would drop in to the pharmacy for a prescription or simply to say "hello".  Mary serves on the Centennial Rink Commission and enjoyed the chats and good fun they had before the meeting.  
May he rest in peace.
