We regret to announce the passing of Joseph Tanos Rahme, who courageously battled a glioblastoma brain tumor for the past three years. Throughout this difficult journey, the outpouring of love, prayers, and support from friends and family was a tremendous source of strength. The family would also like to extend their deepest gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and staff at the Halifax Infirmary QEII, whose exceptional care, compassion, and dedication provided comfort to Joseph in his final days.
Joseph was born in Ainata Al Arz, Lebanon, in 1976. In 2007, he immigrated to Canada after marrying the love of his life, Rita Dib, and together they built a beautiful family with their two beloved sons, Christian and John Paul.
A respected and cherished member of the Lebanese community, Joseph was deeply involved in Our Lady of Lebanon Maronite Catholic Parish. He took immense pride in serving at the altar and fulfilling his church duties with humility, devotion, and joy. His faith was the foundation of his life, and he lived it with extraordinary grace.
Joseph cherished his family, friends, and church community. He had a remarkable passion for photography, generously offering his talent to the parish and to those around him. A true family man, Joseph loved welcoming people into his home; he was known for his warmth, humor, and unwavering generosity—he would give his last dollar to help someone in need. To many, he truly was a saint on earth.
He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and entertainment, embracing life with a lighthearted spirit. Even during times of suffering, Joseph remained calm, humble, grateful, and deeply faithful, spending much of his time in prayer and thanksgiving to God for the blessings in his life.
