from Corner Brook NL, passed away suddenly and peacefully on Monday August 9, 2021.
Everyone who ever met her will unquestionably remember Judy for her larger than life personality, her
big smile, and her zest for life! Her presence would light up a room!
Judy’s passion for dogs took her on many Rescue runs across the border for dogs at risk, fostering
them when needed, and being owner to three rescue dogs at a time. Judy gave great love and care
to her family and friends, visits to her much-loved ocean-front property involved wonderful
gatherings for food, fun and, often, fires. She loved kayaking and swimming in St Margarets Bay, as
well as at her new winter retirement place in Florida, close to her sister Marie. Judy’s adventurous
nature found her hitchhiking across Atlantic Canada, scuba diving in places like Isla Mujeres, Mexico,
ziplining in Costa Rico, as well as volunteering in Haiti. Travelling was definitely Judy's thing.
After graduating from Nursing in 1977 from St. Clare’s Hospital in St. John’s NL, Judy spent many
years on the ophthalmology unit at the Victoria General Hospital before discovering a passion for
Pharmaceutical sales and Management, where, with BMS, STI and Eisai, she specialized in Urology,
Oncology Virology and Neurology, and probably more. With retirement, Judy proceeded to consult and
,of course, had fun selling her handmade buoys and knitted goods.
Judy is survived by her brothers Stephen (Joy) Corner Brook, Dennis, St. John’s, Marie (Jamie)
Halifax, nephews Mike (Krissy), Sean (Joan), great nephew Cody, great nieces Melissa and Breanna,
Jessica, Brittany and Gracie and great great niece Sophie, along her beloved dog Cheerio, her Aunts,
Uncles and many cousins and friends. Predeceased by her father Basil, mother Vera (nee Penney) and
brother Rick Power.
Her Celebration of Life will be held at J. A. Snow Funeral Home on 339 Lacewood Drive in Halifax on
Tuesday, August 24, from 2-4 and 6-8.
Memorial donations can be made to the SPCA or charity of your choice.
