Karen Ann Gentles

Strong, caring, beautiful, kind-hearted, graceful, awesome, funny, charming, our Rock. These are just a few words to describe Karen (mom, nanny). The list goes on and on. Words are not enough to express who she was. She touched everyone’s heart in some way.

Karen is survived by the love of her life, Ronnie Gentles, they shared close to 50 years. She is also survived by her daughters, Shawna Gentles (Darren) and Rhonda Scott Gentles (Albert) all of Halifax; her grandchildren, Michael Moriarty, Cassidy Scott, Madison Scott and Gavin Scott; sister, Cathy Blundell of Halifax and brother, Gary Blundell of Fredericton as well as many nieces and nephews, Christopher and Dylan to name a few.

Karen was predeceased by her parents, William “Bill” and Kathleen “Kay” Blundell, brother, Johnny Blundell and her niece Mellisa Baird.

A huge thanks to all the staff at the VG Site 6A-9A and a special thanks to 7A for all your care and compassion.

Visitation will be held at J. A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax (902-455-0531) on Friday, September 19, 2014 from 2-4 and 6-8pm. A service celebrating Karen’s life will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2014 at 1:00pm from J.A. Snow Funeral Home Chapel with reception to follow. Burial will take place at Oakridge Memory Gardens, Sackville, NS.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Breast Cancer Society.
