

Age 79, of Halifax, passed away on December 28, 2022, in QEII Health Sciences Centre. Born in Halifax, he was the son of Murray and Helen Mont. Wayne worked for Canada Post as a Letter Carrier, retiring in 2006 after a 35-year career. Wayne was a lifelong hockey fan, supporting the Halifax Mooseheads as a season ticket holder for more than 20 years and working as a goal judge for many of the local university games over that last several years. He enjoyed spending time with his friends, particularly with Skip and Dale Walker, who had become part of his extended family. He is survived by sons, Ken Mont of Vancouver; and Tim Mont of Toronto; sisters, Sandra Fox of Halifax; and Laura Stennett of North Carolina; brother, Stephen Mont of Ottawa; grandchildren, Katie, William and Kaitlyn; great-grandchildren, Wyatt and Eli. He was predeceased by wives, Judith Ann (Snow) Mont (1988) and Jane Mildred (Anderson) Mont (2008); and granddaughter, Danielle Jollimore (2019). A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 14, 2023 at 2 p.m. in J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax. In lieu of flowers Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
