L. Wayne Mont

Age 79, of Hal­i­fax, passed away on De­cem­ber 28, 2022, in QEII Health Sci­ences Cen­tre. Born in Halifax, he was the son of Mur­ray and Helen Mont. Wayne worked for Canada Post as a Let­ter Car­rier, re­tir­ing in 2006 after a 35-year ca­reer. Wayne was a life­long hockey fan, sup­port­ing the Hal­i­fax Moose­heads as a sea­son ticket holder for more than 20 years and work­ing as a goal judge for many of the local uni­ver­sity games over that last sev­eral years. He en­joyed spend­ing time with his friends, par­tic­u­larly with Skip and Dale Walker, who had be­come part of his ex­tended fam­ily. He is sur­vived by sons, Ken Mont of Van­cou­ver; and Tim Mont of Toronto; sis­ters, San­dra Fox of Hal­i­fax; and Laura Sten­nett of North Car­olina; brother, Stephen Mont of Ot­tawa; grand­chil­dren, Katie, William and Kait­lyn; great-grand­chil­dren, Wyatt and Eli. He was pre­de­ceased by wives, Ju­dith Ann (Snow) Mont (1988) and Jane Mil­dred (An­der­son) Mont (2008); and grand­daugh­ter, Danielle Jol­limore (2019). A memo­r­ial ser­vice will be held Sat­ur­day, Jan­u­ary 14, 2023 at 2 p.m. in J.A. Snow Fu­neral Home, 339 Lace­wood Drive, Hal­i­fax. In lieu of flow­ers Do­na­tions may be made to the Cana­dian Can­cer So­ci­ety.
