After a year-long battle with cancer, it is with great sadness that we announce that on June 17th, 2014 Lawrence passed away peacefully in the VG with his loving wife holding his hand. Born in Halifax, N.S. he was a son of the late Lawrence and Marlene (Parsons) Cooper.
Lawrence spent the last 12 years working as a consumer service technician for various companies; Bell Aliant being his most recent employer. He truly loved his job and was well respected in the field. Lawrence was a wonderful and caring husband, father, grandfather, and friend. It truly was an honour and privilege to have known him. He enjoyed the simple things in life; spending time with his family, watching sports, playing golf, and his fantasy football.
He is survived by his wife, the love of his life for 25 years, Paula Cooper(nee Jeffery); son, Jordan; brother, Mark (Andrea); granddaughter, Avah (his little princess); the daughter he always wanted, Carol Ann; brother-in-law, Neil Jeffery; nephews, Liam, Lawson, and Thomas; niece, Emma.
Special thanks to Uncle Paul (2nd dad) and Aunt Nancy for always being there by his side, to Dr. Morzycki for keeping his hope alive, VON, and Palliative Care.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax (455-0531) and visitation will be Tuesday June 24, from 12 – 2 pm followed by a service in the J.A. Snow Memorial Chapel to celebrate Lawrence’s life. Interment at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the family to put towards a trust fund for the “apple of his eye” 2 year old granddaughter Avah.
