It is with a great sense of loss that we announce the passing of our much loved Mom, Lillian Marie Roseveare, on August 3rd, 2023. The beautiful irony is that our loss is her reunion. We take comfort as Mom is now reunited with our Dad, her husband of 61 years, Wally, (2018) and our infant brother, Dennis (1958) in the columbarium at Saint James Anglican Church and in eternal life with our brother Darrell (July 2023).
Lillian was born August 9th,1934 in Halifax. She was the daughter of the late Walter and Minnie (Dunsworth) Webber. She was a wonderful homemaker and was happiest when baking and entertaining family and friends in our home on Edgehill Road. No one could bake like Mom - especially her chocolate chip cookies and pies. When we were teenagers, she decided to work outside the home at Sears, most likely to get away from us.
Mom is survived by her daughters, Debbie Bright (Brian); Heather; Karen Green (Robert); and Kathleen (Bruce van Feggelen); daughter-in-law Susan; grandchildren, Laura, Danielle, Nicolas, Joshua, Eric, Logan, Shannon, Meaghan, Lillian; great granddaughter, Emma; sister Beverley Selig; sisters-in-law Ruth, Lorna and Geneva and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Wallace; twin sons, Dennis and Darrell; “my dear grandson” Ian Green; sisters Edna, Pearl and Doris; and brothers Spurgeon, Gerald, Charles, Ernest, Reginald, Raymond, Victor and Donald.
A warm thank you to the staff and residents of The Berkeley Gladstone for their support and friendship shown to Mom and us and to the many medical and caregivers involved with Mom over the years. Special thank you to Amanda Tinning NP and Dr. Laurie Mallery of the Home Heart Failure Program for making Mom be “the best I can be” in her last years.
Mom’s last few weeks were spiritually difficult for her. When Mom passed, she had peace in her heart. We extend our most sincere gratitude to Rev. Katie, Rev. Whitney and all visiting clergy and friends for helping her and us achieve this.
Funeral service will be held 2 p.m., Sunday, August 13th, 2023 at Saint James Anglican Church, 2668 Joseph Howe Drive, Halifax, where Mom was a lifelong member. Rev. Katie Taylor-Flynn officiating. If desired, donations to Hospice Halifax where Mom was hoping to spend her final days would be appreciated.
‘Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal.’
