Loris DiQuinzio, age 69 of Halifax, passed away September 26th, 2018 at home. Born in Penne, Italy, he was the son of the late Maria and Pasquale DiQuinzio. Loris immigrated from Italy when he was 16 years old with his mother, father and three brothers.
He became a barber soon after and had a loyal following of clients throughout his career. An entrepreneur at heart, Loris started many successful businesses, each with his unique stamp and spirit. Loris was a true renaissance man. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed many happy hunting trips with his brothers, cousins and friends. He loved mushroom foraging and gardening. His garden was always abundant and he was so happy to share it with everyone. He had a genuine curiosity and love of life. Whatever interested him, he pursued. He was a painter and a pilot and a true entertainer.
He knew and told more jokes then seemed possible. He played the organetto to get his family and friends dancing. He made great wine and his passion for food could be tasted in the brilliant meals he loved to create for family and friends. He was a vibrant member of the Italian community and would only miss his Friday night card games to spend time with his grandchildren.
His extended family meant everything to him. He was a loving husband, a proud and supportive father, an amazing grandfather to his four grandchildren; Antonia, Alessio, Nico and Nada, two step grandchildren Maxwell and Olivia, and many cherished nieces and nephews. He was a generous friend. Although he has left us too early, his legacy of laughter and love will live on.
Survived by his wife, Emilia DiQuinzio, daughters: Miriana DiQuinzio (John Turner) & Lisa DiQuinzio (Josh Hall) and son James Covey (Dawn Morrison). Brothers: Elio (Dona) DiQuinzio, Dino (Teresa) DiQuinzio, Claudio (Tina) DiQuinzio.

Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Dr. With Funeral Mass being held on Monday, October 1, 2018, at 10 am from St. Catherine of Sienna Church, Bayer’s Rd.
