It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother Lottie (Weymouth) Moulton, at the age of 94. She died peacefully on February 14, 2025 surrounded by her loving family, for which we will always be grateful.
Born on June 10th, 1930, in Hermitage, Newfoundland, she was the daughter of the late Sidney Weymouth and Clara (Keeping) Weymouth. In addition to her parents, she was pre-deceased by a twin brother Louis (who died in infancy), a half-brother John Charles (died age 12), and her cherished husband Frank Moulton who passed in 2017.
She is survived by her three children Maud Leblanc (Danny), Gary Moulton (Colleen), and Sharon Horwich (Mike); grandchildren Kristopher Moulton, Karen Williams, Claire Horwich, Peter Horwich, Angela Al-Shaghay and Marc Leblanc; and 11 great-grandchildren Henry, Elora, John, Zara, Bastian, Omar, Sylvia, Isabel, Josephine, Yaseen, and Tilly.
Never one to shy away from a hard day’s work, Lottie spent 25 wonderful years caring for seniors at the Fairview Villa. She loved her work and during her time there built lasting relationships, especially with Gaye and Mickey, whose friendship lasted until the end.
Lottie was generous with her time and affection, and she never let her grandchildren or great-grandchildren leave her house without a treat and a hug. She loved beautiful things and took care in helping others pick out just the right item for any event. She believed that all the best shopping trips ended with a cup of tea and a chat. She loved to read and relished a good story. She adored animals, particularly their dog, Jake, who was a wonderful companion to both her and Frank for many years.
Above all else, Lottie loved her family and friends fiercely. She always welcomed a crowd, whether it was at the family cottage on Caribou Lake, around the Christmas tree every December, or simply at her kitchen table playing cards.
We are exceptionally grateful for the wonderful care she received in her last few months, particularly from Amber, Ayesha, Jackie, and Reza and the many other thoughtful and kind caregivers at Parkland Clayton Park.
While we will miss her every day, we take comfort in knowing that she has been reunited with her one true love, Frank, on Valentine’s Day. Mom and Dad can once again hold hands, trade a few light-hearted barbs, and make each other laugh as they did throughout their 67-year marriage.
A visitation will be held Sunday, February 23rd from 2-4 p.m. at JA Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax. The funeral service will be held at Trinity Anglican Church, 321 Main Ave. Halifax on Monday, February 24th at 11:00 a.m., with a burial to follow at a later date in St. John’s Anglican Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Kidney Foundation of Canada.
