Age, 93 of Halifax/Sydney. With great sorrow we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt who died peacefully, early Tuesday morning, March 2, 2021 in the Halifax Infirmary, QEII. Mum was born in Truro on December 8, 1927 to the late David and Margaret (Brison) Bartlett. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Lou; brothers, Gordon, Viril, Ray, David; and sister, Florence. She is survived by her children, Debbie, Albert "Bink"(Brenda); grandchildren, Susan Medynski (Ken Lawrence), and Paul Medynski (Joline); great-grandchildren, Mark, Abby and Clare (Lawrence), Lily and Jude (Medynski). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Mum grew up in Truro where she met Dad when he was playing hockey. They later moved to Sydney and lived there for close to 50 years. They moved to Halifax in 2000 to be closer to family. They had a "ton" of friends in Sydney and it was difficult to leave their friends and neighbours. While in Sydney Mum helped Dad as they volunteered with the CNIB and the Meals on Wheels program. She also enjoyed the many friendships she made while working at Woolco. Mum adored her family, especially her grandchildren and later her great-grandchildren. They will certainly miss "Grammy Marg." Mum was very grateful for the many new friends she and Dad made at "The Woodbury."
Arrangements and cremation have been entrusted to J.A. SnowFuneral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax. Due to public health restrictions, there will be no visitation or funeral at this time. A service will be held in Sydney at a later date.
