It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother & great- grandmother, Margaret Ann “Peggy” Chisholm Tellum on September 4th, 2022, at Ocean View Continuing Care Centre, where she resided for the last 15 years.
Born in Dalton-in-Furness, England, on September 6th, 1922, she was the younger daughter of the late Arthur and Margaret Ann (Burns) Brocklebank. She immigrated to Canada with her family in 1926 and resided in Sydney, Nova Scotia, for much of her life. She completed her early education in the Sydney school system and was class Valedictorian her graduating year. Following graduation, she was an educator for 22 years at the Adult Vocational Training Centre in Sydney, Nova Scotia. During her time there, she was instrumental in developing the curriculum focused on women returning to the workplace.

She is survived by her children: W J "Joe", Jane MacDonald (Vincent), Robert (Joanne), Mark, Michael (Marjorie), and Christopher. She is also survived by her daughters-in-law Cheryl Chisholm, and Wendy Chisholm. She was predeceased by her elder daughter Joanne McKinnon (Jim), her sister Doreen Huestis (Gordon), and daughter-in-law, Sheila Chisholm (Christopher).
She is also survived by her 18 grandchildren: Jennifer Angel (Steve), Dr. Adrienne Henriksen (Mark), Heather Chisholm (Marcelo), Cheryl Hutt (Trevor), Jamie McKinnon (Mary-Beth), Cindy Spence (Mark), Allison MacDonald (Jason), Michael MacDonald, Scott MacDonald (Lana), Rebecca Chisholm (Steve), Jesslyn Chisholm (Strath), Jenna Sampson (Donald), Dylan Chisholm (Emily), Michelle Chisholm (Ariel), Michael David Chisholm (Shifon), Melissa Chisholm (Mitchell), Mark Chisholm, Matthew Chisholm (Shelby), Alexander Chisholm (Morgan) and 21 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Following the passing of her first husband, Mom was so blessed to meet and eventually marry her second husband, George Tellum. They enjoyed a wonderful life together for 25 years until his passing in 2008. Mom is also survived by her step-daughter Peggy Arlene Dessereau (Wayne) and step-son George Tellum Jr. (Marilyn).
