Ms. Margaret Marg, Margie Mary Murphy Raymond

Raymond, Margaret Mary – 77, Halifax, passed away peacefully on August 4 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Margaret was born in St. John’s Newfoundland on March 27, 1933. Starting in St. John’s Newfoundland Margaret started working as a secretary. As her family grew to twelve children Margret’s main focus and passion was raising her family. The many friends of Margaret’s children also became an extended family as she opened her home and heart to her children’s many friends. As her children started their own families her many grandchildren became the light of her life. Margaret took great pride in being the special “Nanny” to all 21 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Margaret’s other joys were music and spending time with her family. Margret was predeceased by her parents Martin and Mary Murphy and her beloved son Thomas Raymond. Margaret is survived by her sister Regina Murphy and her sons and daughters Paulette, Shelly (Brian), Denise (Frank), Mary (Jeff), Doris (Jeff), Eve (Kevin), Tracy, Larry (Karen), Marty (Mary), Gerard (Sheri) and Michael (Martha). Visitation will be held Monday at Snow’s Funeral Home Monday August 9 during the times of 2–4 pm and 6-8pm at 339 Lacewood Drive. The funeral service will be held Tuesday August 10 at 10:00am at St. Mary’s Basilica on Spring Garden Road. Rev. Father Toochukwu will be officiating. Cremation in Gates of Heaven cemetery in Lower Sackville following the reception. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Mission of St. Gerard and/or Canadian cancer Society.
