Marion Theresa Maskell

Marion Theresa Veronica Maskell (Lovett) 88 of Halifax, NS, passed away October 13, 2024 at the Halifax Infirmary. Born October 26, 1935, Halifax, she was the daughter of George Patrick Lovett and Catherine Marie Tanner.

Mom’s early work was with the Women’s Auxiliary Army Reserves, Halifax; Leghorn BBQ and Dance Hall, Hubley, NS; Kaisers Dry Cleaners, Halifax and in later years at Sears, and TD Bank, Halifax. Mom loved to sew and knit, and selling her crafts as a vendor at many Craft Fairs. She loved travelling to different countries with her sister Dolly; bowled on several bowling leagues, played Bingo, and was great at Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune TV shows. For years she organized, and did all the shopping of Santa gifts for CNR and VIA Rail Children’s Christmas Parties.

She is survived by daughter Gale Maskell (Eisan), Hubley; son Michael Maskell (Kimberley), Dartmouth; daughter in law Deb (Syd’s wife), sister Dolly Hemeon (Ken); Karl Lovett (Floreen); grandchildren Amanda Eisan BC; Matt Eisan (Kayla), Katie (Jeff); Scott (Danielle); Kassidy (Dreydan), Natasha (Brian), Patrick (Allison), Tyler (Nicole) and 10 great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by husband Sydney Maskell; son Sydney Maskell Jr; father Patrick Lovett; stepmother Katherine Lovett (Kean); brother Pat Lovett; mother Catherine Butler; sister Mary Carter.

Memorial Service will be held on moms birthday, October 26, 2024, 10 :00 am JA Snow Funeral Home, Lacewood Drive, Halifax.

Cremation will have already taken place. In lieu of flowers donations made be made to a charity of choice.
