There are many fond memories that were shared with Mark and Kim over the past 40 years. One I will never forget was the broken ankle at the swimming hole off the Purcell’s Cove Road. Mark was the hero that day! Mark was always such a kind and loving person with a heart of gold. Will miss you Mark! My sincere condolences Mr. Ehler, Kim, and Family. Bev and Dennis

Karen and I were deeply saddened by Mark’s untimely passing. We always enjoyed talking with him whenever he came to visit you, especially for the Canada Day celebration. He always had interesting anecdotes about working on the big container cranes and his interest in cars and motorcycles. You and your family are in our thoughts.

Almost all of my memories of Mark include funny stories and lots of laughs. But it is the serious caring moments that I will remember most fondly. I didn't get to spend a lot of time with Mark as we grew up in different provinces, however, one summer he spent an unexpected week at our cottage after having plane trouble in Ontario. Mark was entertaining even then, and it was probably the most fun week of our entire summer. But what I remember the most is laying watching the stars each evening in the back yard together. I was nervous about starting high school in the fall, and although he was only a few years older, he used this time to provide "big brother" type guidance and comfort during some very serious, thoughtful talks that I will never forget.
I regret that I only saw Mark a few times over the years, but I remember thinking how happy he seemed the last time I saw him. At peace in his life, and caring deeply for his father. Rest in Peace Mark.
