CAMERON, Mary “Dorothy” – 95 Years of Lower Sackville passed away peacefully at home on July 27, 2020. Dorothy was born in Halifax on May 28, 1925. She was predeceased by her parents Fred and Elizabeth (Bennett) MacGillivray and husband of 52 years, Gerald S. Cameron. Also, predeceased by her brothers, Fred, Colin, Ken, Gordon; and sisters Marie, Rita, and Anna Madeline in infancy.
Mourning her loss are daughters Geraldine (Butch) McNeil and Catherine (Philip Livingstone) and grandchildren, Laura Lee and Robert McNeil. Also surviving is her sister-in-law Tina MacGillivray, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Dorothy had a strong will and youthful spirit and was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, and grandmother. She had a generous and supportive nature and was a woman of faith. Her faith kept her strong and hopeful throughout her long life.
Dorothy and Gerald spent their married life in Sydney and Truro, NS, where they enjoyed gardening, camping, and Sunday drives exploring and appreciating nature and visiting parks and beaches. There were also man visits made to various family members.
In recent years, she moved to Lower Sackville to be close to her family.

Due to coronavirus restrictions, a private family service is planned. A memorial Mass will be scheduled at a later date.
