Mary Harriet Carmichael

Mary passed away November 8th 2023 in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Mary was born in 1944 in Edinburgh, Scotland to parents Gordon and Mary Carmichael. She worked for The Royal Bank of Scotland before being recruited by Scotiabank and emigrated to Canada in 1973. Mary resided in Ottawa and served in several branches there before meeting the love of her life John W. Beveridge, whom she married in 1998. After she retired in 2001 they moved to Hantsport and thereafter Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Predeceased by parents and brother Grant, she is survived by her husband and sister-in-law Cathie (Orin) Eisenhauer, Dartmouth, sisters-in-law Susan Beveridge, Ottawa, Maggie Beveridge of Digby, and Mairi Carmichael, Isle of Islay Scotland, plus nieces and nephews in Scotland and Canada.

A member of Fort Massey United Church she was an Elder, a Lifetime Member of the United Church Women and a Rebekah. A generous, giving soul.

Our grateful thanks are extended to Dr. D. Cepica-Angel and Dr. S. Scott plus all the nurses in the Oncology Unit and on the 11th floor of the Dixon Building for wonderful care and compassion.
