
Born in Norboro, P.E.I. She was the daughter of the late James and Ella Croken. Dorothy moved to Moncton and worked with the Red Cross during the war. She later settled in Nova Scotia and worked at National Sea Products and The Canadian Paraplegic Association until retiring in 1985 from the Department of National Defence. Dorothy spent many great years travelling across six continents. She loved gardening and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her daughter Sharon Gardiner (David) Prospect Bay, granddaughters Sara Allain (Matt) Shad Bay, Holly Minney (Derek) Hatchet Lake, Janice Larade (Dennis) Oromocto, grandson James Corbin, New Elm, several great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by husband Hughes, son James and brothers Bert and Walter Croken and sister Honoria Croken. She will be dearly missed by her family.
Arrangements have been entrusted to JA Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax, NS. Her funeral service will be held at Our Lady of Mount Carmel, 3709 Prospect Road, Shad Bay, NS on Saturday, January 9th at 11AM. There will be a reception to follow.
