Mary Carol Markesino

Carol was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia to John Patrick and Anne Catherine (Fraser) Dunn on April 24, 1939. Her husband, John “Mark”, after almost 48 happy years, died on January 26, 2007. As well as her parents and husband, Carol was predeceased by siblings Eleanor (Reglar); Cyril George Dunn; John Francis Dunn, and Kenneth Joseph Dunn, as well as three nephews and one niece. Carol is survived by siblings, Fraser (Eileen), Edmonton, AB; Audrey Wicks, Kitchener, ON; Joyce Bass, Wildwood Crest, NJ; Beverly Prosser, Halifax, NS. She cherished her many nieces and nephews and their children. She spent most holidays with Beverly and her children, Scott (Charlene) and his family and Mark (Juli), all of whom were very special to her.

Carol attended St. Patrick’s High School and Halifax Vocational School. She thoroughly enjoyed her career, working for over 20 years as Executive Secretary to five presidents of Saint Mary’s University; and over 20 years as Executive Secretary to various vice-presidents at Newfoundland Capital Corporation. During these years Carol made many dear friends with whom she kept in touch.

The family wishes to thank the doctors and staff at the QEII. The family will receive friends for a service and reception in J. A. Snow Funeral Home on Lacewood Drive, Halifax on Wednesday, November 16th at 10:00am. Burial to follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lower Sackville. Family flowers only.
