

Mailman, Mervin Blake age 99 of Halifax passed away on Thursday, April 10, 2014 at Northwood Ivany Place. Born in UpperBranch, Lunenburg Co. to the late Simon and Dorothy (Bailey) Mailman. Mervin worked fifty years at Maritime Telephone and Telegraph Co. The last employee able to do so. He was a devote member of the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection.
He is survived by his daughter, Judith (Thomas) Ross; grandchildren, Andrew (Shelley) Ross, Jennifer (Paul) Robichaud and Alison (Christopher) MacRae; Great Granddaughters, Carye (Alex), Meghan (Dana) and Taylor Ross, Emily Robichaud, Lauren and Abbey MacRae; Great Grandson, Jonathan Robichaud as well as his Great-Great Grandson, Aidan Herman.
Mervin was predeceased by his wife of 61 years, Margaret (Baldwin) as well as his brothers, Murray and Walter and his sister, Jean.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of J. A. Snow Funeral Home. Memorial service will be held on Monday, April 14 at the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection at 1:00pm. Burial to take place at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.

Thank you to Kingswood Residence (Chris, Mariola and Elizabeth) who provided excellent care to Mervin and his family for 21 months. Thank you also to Dartmouth General and Northwood Ivany for their compassionate care.
