Michael Sachs

It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of A. Michael (Mike) Sachs on October 7, 2026 at the age of 87. Born in Nixdorf, Czechoslovakia on Nov 27, 1938. He was the loving son of Adolph and Anna Sachs.

Mike leaves behind his loving and devoted wife of 66 years Leona Jean Sachs (Langille), their children Chris (Lana) Sachs, daughters Monica (Scott)Penford and Melissa Sachs, grandchildren Christina (Evan) Leslie, Matthew (Brooke) Penford, Caley Penford, Nicholas Theophylactou, Thomas Theophylactou and great grandchildren Layton & Rowan Leslie and Arlo Penford Jacobs.

Mike was predeceased by his parents and grandson Michael Sachs.

Mike immigrated to Canada in 1949 with his parents, grandparents and Aunt and Uncle. He grew up in Pictou, Nova Scotia where he attended Pictou Academy and later graduated from Xavier University in 1962.

Mike was an Architectural Engineer and a respected businessman having established his own company Project Planning Consultants. Mike will be remembered as a respected businessman with too many accomplishments to list.

He will also be remembered for his love of playing cards, chess and his incredible devotion to his family and friends.

Visitation will be held October 10 at 1:00 pm at J. A. Snow Funeral Home on 339 Lacewood Drive. A memorial service will follow at 2:00 pm also at J. A. Snow Funeral Home. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Wallace River at 2:00pm October 11, 2026.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada.
