MacINNIS, Morrison – 86, of Halifax. It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Morrison on December 10, 2012 at the QEII Health Sciences Centre, surrounded by his loving family. Born in the small rural community of Sky Glen, Cape Breton on December 31, 1925, he was a son of the late John Murdock and Annie (MacPhee) MacInnis. Morrison left home to work in Toronto and later returned to Halifax where he worked for a number of construction companies. Before his retirement, he worked for nine years at the Halifax Housing Authority. At the time of his death, he was a member of Edgewood Oxford United Church and for many years he was a member of Oxford United Church where he worked on several committees. He was known for his great sense of humour and telling a good story. He also enjoyed reading, gardening and watching sports. Morrison was a hard worker and spent most of his free time at home and often could be found in his work shop where he enjoyed wood working. The greatest joy of all for Morrison was the love he had for his grandchildren: Nicole, Jamie and Gregor. Poppy will be forever in their hearts. Morrison will be sadly missed by his wife of 55 years, Laura (MacKay); sons Brian, Cole Harbor, Darrell (Bernadette), Stillwater Lake and Michael, Stillwater Lake. Also surviving are sisters Dolena, Ainsle Glen, Jessie MacKinnon, Ainsle Glen, Phillis Ferguson (D.J.), Sky Glen, Edna MacLennan, Little Narrows, Janet Scott (Angus), Sky Glen, Shirley Morrison, Aberdeen, Wilena Parker (Peter), Brook Village; and brother Jackie (Marie), Sky Glen.
