Nagate Nahas

Born in Beit Mellat, Lebanon, Nagate built a life rooted in faith, unconditional love and devotion to her family. Her home was a place of warmth, generosity and comfort where everyone felt welcomed, cared for and were reminded that family always came first.

Nagate never forgot the moments that mattered most; birthdays, anniversaries and milestones. Her greatest concern was never herself, but the people she loved. Her love knew no limits and caring for others was simply who she was.

She was known for her remarkable strength, her fierce independence and the quiet confidence with which she carried herself. She faced every challenge in life with grace and resilience. To her family, she was the matriarch, the greatest treasure and the steady foundation.

Nagate was predeceased by her dearest husband, Talat Nahas; her father, Michael Al Hage; her mother, Mariam Al Hage; and her brother, Fawzi Al Hage.

She is survived by her loving children, Marwan Joseph (Hania), Mark (Natalie), Maria (Rudy), and Andrea; her ten cherished grandchildren; Yvonne, Gabriella, René, Marc, Monica, Jada, Chloe, Ted, Joe, Mason and her four adored great-grandchildren; her beloved sister, Hayat (Estephan); along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and dear friends whose lives were forever enriched by her love and kindness.

She was happiest when the people she loved were gathered around her table and no one ever left her home without being offered something to eat. Every goodbye ended the same way. Nagate would stand at her doorstep, waving until the car disappeared from sight, never turning back inside until she knew we were safely on our way. It was such a simple act, but one that captured the depth of her love.

Perhaps that is what Heaven looks like now- Nagate standing at another doorway, watching over the family she loved so immensely, with the same gentle smile, the same endless love and the quiet promise that she will always be with us.

Forever loved, forever missed, forever in our hearts.

Condolences will take place on Sunday, July 19, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at 40 Weybridge Lane, Bedford, N.S.

Funeral visitation will be held on Monday, July 20, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax.

Funeral service will take place at Saint Antonios Antiochian Orthodox Church, 2480 Windsor St, Halifax, N.S., on Tuesday, July 21, 2026 at 11:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Saint Antonios Antiochian Orthodox Church in Nagate’s memory.
