

Nick was the eldest son of the late Vasileios and Mavromata Veletas. Nick immigrated to Canada in 1964 where he met his loving wife of 40 years, Anthoula, whom passed away too soon. For many years Nick and Anthoula were the owners of White Rose Dry Cleaners on Gottingen Street. He was an active member of the Greek Orthodox Church and Community. Nick enjoyed gardening in his backyard, photography, and being surrounded by his family and friends. He was most known for his storytelling and his sweet and gentle demeanour.
He will be greatly missed by his children, Mavromata (Haralambos Panagiotidis) Veleta and Bill (Marina Trihopoylos) Veletas. He was a loving pappou to Anthi, Niko, Efrosini, and Anthi Nicola. He is also survived by his brother, Marko (Anna) Veletas, and sister Katerina (Spyro) Vikelis, as well as many nieces and nephews. Nick was predeceased by his sister Marigo (Christos) Xidos.
Arrangements are entrusted to Snow Funeral Home at 339 Lacewood Drive, where visitation will be from 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM on Monday, March 18th.
The funeral mass will take place in St. George’s Greek Orthodox Church with Father Maximos Saikali presiding at 12:00 PM on Tuesday, March 19th. Burial to follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Sackville Drive.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. George’s Greek Orthodox Church.
