Patrick James Moore, 89, passed away peacefully at home on November 22, 2016. From his first job at Fairey Aviation, where he met mom, to his last job at the Nova Scotia Tax Commission, dad created lifelong friendships. He remained a loyal Blue Jays fan right to the end.
Dad was a putterer. If he didn't have a hammer in one hand, a tape measure in the other and a pencil behind his ear, he would be in the garage cleaning his 1996 Honda, which Steve will now proudly drive around Halifax. Dad was a lover of music and movies and was often found on his deck under his headphones. Mom & Dad discovered the love of cruising as dad was nearing retirement and they went on twenty cruises until their last one in 2010.
Dad was predeceased by his father Patrick, his mother Catherine and his step-father Albert Tombolini. He is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Marina, his son Stephen (Terry O'Malley) and his daughter Pat Horsman (Bill).
He will forever be loved by his five grandchildren, Jonathan Horsman (Taunya MacDonald), Julie Horsman (Joe Lavergne), David Horsman (Karen Leung), all of Ottawa, and Brianne Moore-Rodrigues (Derek) of Halifax and the late Christopher Horsman.
Grampie was so proud of how Julie, Brianne and Chris all handled their cancer diagnosis, so if you wish, please donate online at www.lightthenight.ca under the team name "Brianne's Mighty Fighters" to help raise funds for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
We are so thankful that nanny and grampy were able to travel by train to Ottawa to be with our entire family for Julie and Joe's wedding celebration this past August.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 26th, 2016 at J. A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax NS from 2-4pm.
You will be missed, dad.
