
72 Died of cancer 24 July 2013. Born in 1941 as a “Blitz” baby during the Clydebank bombings in Scotland. Son of Martin and Hannah Murray (Hawthorne). Surviving are his wife Pauline (Kennedy); son Martin and Tye and boys Gavin and Liam; daughter Denise and Tim (Taylor) and boys Rory and Logan. Sisters Agnes and Bruce (Nicol), Hastings England, Marie Edinburgh Scotland, and Anne and Oliver (Cook) Oxford England; brothers Martin and Wilma Milngavie Scotland, Thomas and Lyn Drymen Scotland and Gerald and Susan Toronto, and his special niece Gillian. His early education was in Scotland. He also studied in Germany and France. Taught school in Scotland and England. Came to Nova Scotia in 1968 and taught at Dwight Ross J High in CFB Greenwood from 1968 till 1976. Taught in Halifax from 1976 till 1996 when he retired. After retirement he worked part time at the Rebecca Cohn and Neptune Theatre. Then for about 10 years he worked as a tourist guide. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus for 41 years. There will be no visitation. The Mass of the Resurrection will be held at St. Mary`s Basilica, 1508 Barrington St, Halifax, NS on Saturday July 27th at 10 am.
