Thank you Ralph in keeping The Old Halifax, I drank there, The Green Dory & Secretary's, where I worked,  safe environments to work and play in. I hope we pass path's on my retirement from here to out there among the endless planets, stars, and galaxies. The very moment your Light went out here on Earth, somewhere out there in the Universe a New Light appeared. Of that I am sure. My deepest condolences go out to all his loved ones and those who loved him. I proudly watched his son Roger "The Hulk" on UFC 152 for the first time. As soon as I heard Halifax & Hollett in the same sentence I knew exactly who he was, bearing in mind that I didn't have a clue Ralph had a son.

Ralph proved that hard work never hurt anybody, last year in Montreal, I met Russ Amber who has spend most of his life in the "fight game", he had high praise for Ralph and other Maritime Fighters!

Our City of Halifax will miss Ralph as he was indeed a legend in our community. My sincere sympathy goes to his family at this time and I know a deep hole is left in your hearts. Many Saturday mornings at the YMCA when Ralph finished handball, he would join us to  lift some weights. He was a quiet unassuming man, but had the heart and courage of a lion. he was loved by us and will always be remembered. Ralph and I were co-workers for many years and I will fondly remember his unique sense of humour. I will keep Lisa, Angelo, Sarah, Roger and Clinton in my thoughts and prayers.

I didn't know Ralph, but I always took an interest in reading about his ring challenges.  What a shame he's not in the NS Sports Hall of Fame, I too thought he was.  Hopefully he will be elected in the not too distant future, as he did represented Nova Scotia with pride as a professional boxer with a notable career .

Ralph, I had the honor of fighting along side you on many of our fights. I always would come out to watch you in your matches, because you were so a competent an athlete, and I really enjoyed your abilities and your heart of a lion. I'm proud to have known you, and had the chance to always liked having the press wanting too photograph us together. It was one of the highlights of my career. My deepest sympathy to the entire family, I will truly miss Ralph the times I spent with him as his Patient Attendant was a blessing, we were like best friends and his family were excellent, couldn't get any better. I am sorry to hear of Ralph's passing. Ralph was as warm hearted as he was tough and he had the heart of a lion. I spent many of my sporting years training with him and he and Tom McCluskey were gracious enough to allow me and other hockey players, such as Al MacInnis, to train in their gym in the late 70's early 80's. My Father, Murdock, spent many hours in the racquetball/handball court with Ralph and I am sure the two of them are in the middle of a game as we speak. There never was and never will be a Nova Scotian athlete who trained harder and longer than Ralphie in pursuit of excellence.

I miss Brother Ralph greatly.  In the short time I knew him he became a precious and dear friend to me, but I know I shall see him again.  I am assured of this because Ralph has eternal life in the risen Christ, which also guarantees that he is now experiencing the best, with more to follow.  May God's comforting grace sustain the family and friends in this hour of sorrow and throughout the days ahead.

To Judy and family and friends.  I am so sorry to hear of Ralph's passing.  I am heading out of country for a couple of weeks so won't be able to pass on my sympathies in person.  Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Sorry to hear Ralph is gone. I worked out with Ralph at Maloney's Uechi Ryu dojo in the 70s. Awesome dude! I clearly remember the first time I stepped into the dojo. Ralph came in did a handstand and did 25 push ups straight up. He was always an inspiration!

We will miss Ralph, he was always kind whenever we met, Frank and I thought kindly of him. ' No more pain and with the Angels.'  We are thinking of you Angelo and Lisa.

Sorry to hear of Ralph's passing. He was a one of a kind guy. These guys don't come around very often. I had the honor of being in Ralph's corner for his first fights. My Father (Tom) always said he never met a guy that wanted to train as much, as Ralph. He was a true professional and gave his all to the sport. Nova Scotia has lost a legend.---
