

With sad and broken hearts, we’re sorry to announce the loss of our loved one, Ralph Hollett.
Ralph is survived by his father Ralph Norman Hollett (Sr.), sisters, Judy Hollett (Les) Janet Smith (Rick) and Debbie Hollett; brothers Patrick Hollett (Billie Sue), Edward Hollett (Judy); daughter, Sara Hollett; sons Roger Hollett (Amanda), Clinton Hollett and Angelo Hollett, all of Halifax. Also leaving behind is the love of his life of 17 years, Lisa Novelli.
Ralph was predeceased by his mother Joyce Audrey Stokes, one sister Joyce Gladys Hollett and one brother Michael in infancy.
Ralph loved sports with an early interest in hockey, moved onto racketball and handball. Ralph achieved his black belt in Karate, Uechi Ryu and Jui Jitsu. As we all know, his passion and highest accomplishment was winning the Canadian Middleweight Championship in boxing (two consecutive years – January, 1980 and June 14, 1981), The Canadian Kickboxing Championship (November 27, 1979), and the Tough Man Championship. Ralph continued boxing and expanding his expertise internationally with great success at the New England Kickboxing Championship against the World’s current champion on October 29, 1981, honouring him a proud inductee into the Nova Scotia Sports Hall of Fame.
Ralph was a long time member of the YMCA and numerous other fitness centres of metro. He worked with the Long Shoreman, CN Rail, and several security placements throughout HRM.
His security skills expanded, he graduated from Success College and became a proud employee for the Department of Correctional Services, At Central Nova Scotia Correction Centre for 5 years.
We would like to thank all the Bayshore sitters who spent numerous hours with Ralph. Thanks to the nursing staff of the VG 8th Floor and special thanks to the doctors, nurses and the professional team of the Palliative Care Unit. Also, to everyone who faithfully stood by Ralph’s side.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held in J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Dr., Halifax (902) 455-0531 on Tuesday, June 19th with family visiting from 1-2pm and public from 2:30-4:30pm and 6:30-8:30pm. Memorial service will take place on Wednesday, June 20th at 1:00pm in the funeral home chapel.
