

CRAWLEY, RAYMOND EDWARD 91 of Halifax, passed away January 9 at the QE11. Born in Halifax, he was the son of the late Victoria and Frank Crawley. He was a member of the Canadian Armed Forces in Canada and overseas and was a proud member of the Royal Canadian Legion for 55 years, as well sa working at the Halifax Correction Centre, the Halifax Shipyards and the Department of Highways.
Raymond is survived by daughters Darlene Pearson and Nancy Wilcox; sons Raymond (Rita), Allan, Anthong (Nora) and Roger; sister Ann (John Webb), Truro and brother Wayne (Mary), Halifax; several grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by Daisy Macquilkin; Marilyn Gogan-Crawley; grandson Jason Lockerby; brothers Frank Jr, John, Graham, Kenneth, Jerry and Jim; sisters Margaret, Dorothy and Jean.
Thank you to Earth Angels of Bridgewater, all the care workers and staff who helped with dad's early care. A very special thank you to Carol Hipwell for all the early care and the months that followed.
Very special thanks to the staff at Harbour View Haven nursing home and Parkstone Enhanced Care Nursing Home. Thank you to the doctors, caregivers for the excellent care of dad. Special thanks to Susan and Pat, and Caterine for the cards sent to dad over the years while he was in care. And thanks also to the doctors and nurses at the QEII emergency care department.
Dad will be laid to rest in the spring at St JOhn's Cemetery in Springhill.
Funeral service Wednesday January 17 at 2pm at JA Snow Funeral Home, Halifax. Donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
