Robert "Bob" Allan Johnston

Robert (Bob) Johnston of Bedford, N.S., passed away peacefully on December 30th, 2018, surrounded by his wife of 49 years, Barbara (House); daughters, Wendy (McCallum) and Meghan (Milloy) and brother, Bill. Bob was a beloved father-in-law to Mike and Rob and loving Poppa to Duncan, Jack, Georgia, Oliver and Stella. He was a dedicated brother to Bill, and loving buddy to Harv.

A lifelong teacher, Bob touched thousands of students through his career with the HRSB, and shared all the most important life lessons with his own daughters & grandchildren.

Bob will be remembered for his love of literature, singing, sailing, musicals, judo, chocolate and stories, but mostly for his love for his girls --Turtle (Barbie), Wendy & Meghan -- and his five prized grandchildren. The kindest and most selfless man we know, he will be greatly missed and always remembered.

A special thank you to Bob’s amazing team of friends, caregivers and Drs. Morehouse & Koller, who allowed the last few years of Dad’s life to be quite exceptional and joyous.

A celebration of Bob’s life will be held at J. A. Snow Funeral Home on January 5th at 2 p.m. with a chocolate and joy-filled reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation.
