Robert "Bob" George Hill

No­vem­ber 10, 1933–Oc­to­ber 21, 2022. Robert, the son of the late Henry and Mar­jorie (Soper) Hill, and hus­band of Karen (MacIn­nis), passed away sud­denly on Fri­day, Oc­to­ber 21, 2022, after en­joy­ing over 88 years of good health. Born in Hal­i­fax, Bob grad­u­ated from Dal­housie Uni­ver­sity in 1959 and found his call­ing as a high school teacher and guid­ance coun­selor. Karen was the love of his life, and his chil­dren were his world. Bob made the most of his sum­mers off, spend­ing mem­o­rable time with the fam­ily at their cot­tage on the Gulf Shore in Pug­wash. He loved chat­ting with every­body around him, laugh­ing, put­ter­ing around on home im­prove­ments, and mak­ing sure the local birds and squir­rels were well-fed. In his younger years, Bob played and coached hockey. After re­tir­ing he looked after him­self through healthy eat­ing and going for long walks with Karen and ice-skat­ing at the rink with his pals. Even at 88, he still mowed his lawn and main­tained his own home. Bob was a gen­tle, lov­ing, and car­ing man, look­ing after those around him to the end. He will be sadly missed by his lov­ing fam­ily, his chil­dren, Chris in Hal­i­fax, Joanne (Paul) in Cal­gary and Joel (Cathy) in Dart­mouth. Bob was pre­de­ceased by his wife, Karen, par­ents and brother, Ed­ward (Mick). Fol­low­ing his wishes, there will be no memo­r­ial ser­vice, and cre­ma­tion has taken place. In Bob’s mem­ory, a do­na­tion to any an­i­mal shel­ter would be ap­pre­ci­ated.
