November 10, 1933–October 21, 2022. Robert, the son of the late Henry and Marjorie (Soper) Hill, and husband of Karen (MacInnis), passed away suddenly on Friday, October 21, 2022, after enjoying over 88 years of good health. Born in Halifax, Bob graduated from Dalhousie University in 1959 and found his calling as a high school teacher and guidance counselor. Karen was the love of his life, and his children were his world. Bob made the most of his summers off, spending memorable time with the family at their cottage on the Gulf Shore in Pugwash. He loved chatting with everybody around him, laughing, puttering around on home improvements, and making sure the local birds and squirrels were well-fed. In his younger years, Bob played and coached hockey. After retiring he looked after himself through healthy eating and going for long walks with Karen and ice-skating at the rink with his pals. Even at 88, he still mowed his lawn and maintained his own home. Bob was a gentle, loving, and caring man, looking after those around him to the end. He will be sadly missed by his loving family, his children, Chris in Halifax, Joanne (Paul) in Calgary and Joel (Cathy) in Dartmouth. Bob was predeceased by his wife, Karen, parents and brother, Edward (Mick). Following his wishes, there will be no memorial service, and cremation has taken place. In Bob’s memory, a donation to any animal shelter would be appreciated.
