Robert James Howell

Robert James Howell passed away on June 30th, 2026. Born on February 1st, 1946, in Liverpool, England. He was brought up in Halifax. He attended Queen Elizabeth High School, Mount Allison University, and Saint Mary’s University. He worked mainly in finance till his retirement. He was pre-deceased by his father Doctor Denis R. S. Howell and his mother Elizabeth (Rising) Howell, and brother Peter Howell.

He is survived by his wife Dawn (Benvie) Howell, daughters; Kathleen Howell, Andrea (Howell) Masterson (England), Denise Howell (Ottawa); three grandsons and one granddaughter; and brother William J. Howell of Toronto.

Robert was one of the founding members of Nova Voce, the N.S. men’s choir. He had a long time involvement with the choir and other parish work at Christ Church, Dartmouth.
