Bob passed away peacefully on December 3, 2012, in the QEII Health Sciences Centre with his family by his side. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Frances (Jubien), and son, Rob (Tracey) Williams, son-in-law Keith Dexter, and grandchildren Kimberlee & Kyra Williams, and Ben & Teddy Dexter, cousin Margaret Dunn, niece Heather Saunders and nephew Brian (Sue) Saunders and their children. Bob attended Chebucto Road School, Queen Elizabeth High School and Dalhousie University. His love of photography led him to a career with the CBC as a film cameraman, documentary filmmaker, film manager and unit manager. During his career he was fortunate to travel the world, spending four months filming on Easter Island. He also spent time filming on a glacier in Norway. Bob’s photographic talents won him many awards, both locally and internationally. He was a member of the Photographic Society of America, winning the 5 Star AFAIP from the Federation Internationale de l’Art Photographique. Bob had a keen interest in golf, and was a member of Ashburn Golf Club, where he made one of his two holes-in-one. Bob loved spending time at the cottage. What began as a wooded lot, with time, and much family labour, became a peaceful getaway where he and Fran spent many post-retirement days. Bob was pre-deceased by his parents, Robert & Lillian Williams, his brother Eugene Williams, sister-in-law, Joan (Jubien) Saunders and her husband Bob, and daughter Susan Joan Williams Dexter. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held from 3-5 pm, Sunday, December 9 at J.A. Snow Funeral Home on Lacewood Drive, Clayton Park.
