Born in Halifax on September 19, 1942, he was the son of the late Hector and Bertha (Verge) Young. Bob is survived by his beloved wife Judith of 58 years, his son Michael (Shelley) Young, brother David Young and several nieces and nephews. He is also dearly missed by his grandcats Brinn and Roxie. Bob was predeceased by his parents and his sister Rosalie Bussard.
Bob was retired from the Nova Scotia Department of Transportation and Public Works with over 25 years of service. He was a member of the Native Council of Nova Scotia (Zone 3).
Bob enjoyed racing go karts and anything on two or four wheels. He was also an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing. He was a NASCAR racing fan and attended races in New Hampshire for many years.
Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at JA Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax, Nova Scotia on June 27, 2026, between 2 and 4pm.
